ABOUT US
The company was founded in 1986 and the owners were master plumbers Christian Þorkelsson and Reynir Baldursson. We started with services to individuals and took one house at a time in new construction. Soon we started participating in tenders and the first project was Perlan á Öskjuhlíð. We also served ÁTVR in the early years and still do.
In 1999, Christian bought Reynis' share and has since run the company alone with the help of good people who have worked for the company, many for a very long time.
During the 34 years that the company has been operating, its operations have grown steadily and the number of employees has reached 78 people.
Universal Plumbing is, as the name says, in everything related to plumbing and we have considerable expertise in our staff which has served us well over the years.
A large part of the activity is in tenders, and among our biggest works are the Pearl in Öskjuhlið, the House of Íslenskar Erfðanáður in Vatnsmýrin, Reykjanesvirkjun, Álfheimar 74, Svartsengi 2 phases, Expansion of Keflavík Airport, Borgartún 19,21 and 21A, Korputorg, Sæmundargata 21 student parks with 244 apartments and Hotel in Landsímahus.
The company has also participated in joint projects with other companies in the industry, such as Salalaugin in Kópavogur, Þeistareykjavirkjun and Costco housing in Garðabærn.
We also offer regular inspections of larger properties in accordance with the agreement with the house owners.
We also take care of regular inspections of sprinkler systems in accordance with the rules of the Civil Engineering Agency and the Fire Protection Authority regarding such inspections.
We have a contract with Kópavogsbær for maintenance and repairs in their properties and have been doing so since 2013.

We have contracts with companies and parties in the labor market to maintain old or new buildings. In this way, possible maintenance costs can be prevented in the future.
